This inlet along the beach looked unreal in the afternoon light. It reminds me of a desert oasis or an untouchedagoon rather than the normally highly populated fishing spot at Kure Beach, NC.
One of my favourite acents is freshly cut grass and I love seeing the few drops in the morning. I was lucky to catch the sunlight on this one leaf petal and it made me think about life and nature in general...maybe I've been up too long!
My dog and I used to watch the sun rise at the beach quite often. After he was killed and cremated I carried him with me to watch it rise again together. Gabriel is in the box w/ me sitting behind him.
cat, Fuego, during a photo session in the grass with some new crystals and sunshine!
What else can I say? I love living by the beach- this was an outtake from a fun shoot to capture a sunless tanning product vs natural sun but the shadows looked awesome with the sunset.
This was taken from the passenger side of a truck moving north out of Wilmington, NC checking for people needing assistance after Hurricane Florence. The pink sunset was stunning and I loved the way it "lit" the back of the old shack &gave it life!
I love broccoli but when trying to get one of my patients I volunteer with to eat it I call it a Tree- it works at 6 and 96 years :)
I was trying to figure out my exact eye colour from various optometry charts because they seem to change colours. I took the pic then took away all pigments but my iris and this happened.
This is a picture of what glue traps do to innocent baby mice & other animals. Jameson here lived for 4 days after I got him loose but sadle died in my hand right here. The colours represent simplicity but patterns are compliacted.
These are 24k coated playing cards and while at my friwnd's I got the idea to snap a pic of a "decent" poker hand!
This is a beautiful pink orange sunset I caught while riding along assessing damage from Hurricane Florence today as the road was finally passable. If I were taller it'd be spectacular!
This is a jellyfish "egg" washing back and forth with the waves at Kure Beach. it was hard to capture in a peaceful manner but this was it and I love the air bubbles as well.
This shadow is awesome because it makes me taller and gives me a boost on the "back side" :) but seriously was taken on accident trying ro catch a bird and I felt like posting to show the beach that is now gone from Florence.
This is a picture of me jumping over a small wave on the beach before sunset after a long day of filming, working and I just wanted to play! This is Kure Beach 1 beach away from my home. Perfect water temperature too!
This is my squirrel friend Frederik who came to stay with me after a tragic tree accident and until she was rehabilitated and ready to be a wild squirrel again. it was an amazing experience! This was her 1st ot many escapes from the carrier.
This was Jameson, a young mouse that I tried to rescue from a disgusting glue trap! He lived a few days but succumbed to his injuries &loss of mother :(
I tried to capture fresh rain drops in the cod weather but my phone is a bit older than others used here . I loved the lone pop of orange so I deleted other shades but green.
This is a close up of two different indoor sprinkler fuse heads. Once a certain temp is reached, the liquid breaks the glass &turns the sprinkler in to put out a fire. I think they're interesting&look cool beside the wood cut outs.
and a partridge, er uh white parakeet, in a pear /silver tinsel Christmas tree! My brothers bird got loose while I'm house sitting and I can't get it out of the tree!
Meet Eastern gray squirrel Frederik, her first week after being rescued from a dangerous falling tree. She loved sleeping in my bathrobe pocket, just like above, and was an amazing friend. She is now thriving in the wild; successfully rehabilitated!
I love my crystals, minerals and gemstones and this sliced raw Amethyst druzy geode is a one of my favourites. I took the colour from the background so the purple crystals would pop
I have posted on a mineral forum when I can't figure out a stone or crystal &this is one. I thought it brown jasper but it is translucent. Then agate, but the 3rd portion shows a view under long wave u.v.light. No idea.
This is a gorgeous September sunset over Fort Fisher Kure Beach, NC area. we drove the jeep on the sand for a photo shoot and I took this as we were leaving.
This is another rescued friend, a sweet bunny named Gator next to a toy bunny that shares quite a resemblance. I love the juxtaposition of the two in black and white here.
This is the same piece of rough green fluorite mined in Ontario, Canada. I took a pic under natural light, back it artificially and then with long wave u.v. light. The pink cube inside is a calcite growth.
This is a close up on a vintage paperweight from my grandfather's collection. It's a real Dandelion flower preserved inside a hand blown glass dome & was made in England.
Here is another close up of my brother's white parakeet who escaped in to the family's vintage silver Christmas tree- they didn't think find my version of partridge in a pear tree as funny
After hurricane Florence all I see here are debris piles and flood zones. This is one of our burn piles of things destroyed by nature. I highlighter with spots of colour.
I need to get a better angle but this is an antique window with clear glass and the fish is formed from hundreds of smaller broken shards of colored glass. All done by hand and all materials sourced locally or from the Atlantic.
There was something simplistic but beautiful when I took this picture because it was the first warm day of spring and the only thing blossoming in the yard. Technically a weed but I think it's acute white flower.
I'm pretty sure this was a crazy neon pink and red set of trails from waving a sparkler in the dark. I just happened to catch a picture of something I didn't think possible!
I was helping clean my grandma's garage when I saw her very old broom propped on the door and something about it was nostalgic and "ugly oretty". I hope someone else can relate but I like the authentic vintage feel to the picture too.
I have had this picture stored on my phone from when my Gabriel was just a puppy. His all black Rottweiler coat contrasts with the Christmas hat and cheer so well !
I forgot to add this pic I took after Hurricane Florence pounded us for days. Everything was flooded and destroyed but this lone flower blooming in contrast to the destruction.
I love the smell of green grass right after it rains...so much so that I captured this photo to transport me there whenever I need to relax!
Taken on my locally as a reminder of the tragedies occurring in our oceans. Without penalty, animals like this pelican become victim of unscrupulous fishing boats using methods that literally destroy all life around us.
I like the random angles that are actually set up to be a structurally sound stairwell...
I am curious if anyone could guess what this is- but it'd be tough w/no clues. I bought this item online and loved the texture and thought Incould get a close up at a downward angle to capture some iridescent shades.
I was taking the desolate back road at night and didn't want to foolishly take intentional pictures while driving so I simply snapped a few without knowing what was in frame and where. I love the clarity of the water tower against the stark black.
This is the original picture thatI added the colour pop to earlier. I love the aged wood around the frosted glass but it is strange to have a window you can't see from.
