I was invited to shoot a ballet performance of the Nutcracker. I had never shot anything ballet until about 3 weeks before this performance. Nevertheless, I love trying new things and going outside my comfort zone. After watching the performers for a while, I realised that one of the most crucial aspects of ballet that I wanted to capture was the movement. It was so fluid and, at times, rhythmic. It was controlled in a graceful manner that I found captivating. It took me a few tries to get a photo that encapsulated this beautiful art, but I felt that this one did it justice.
