One of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries, Fountain Abbey in North Yorkshire of England was founded in 1132 and dissolved in 1539 under the order of Henry VIII. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the nearby Studley Royal Park. The adjacent Georgian water garden is not to be missed as well. #Yorkshire #FountainsAbbey #Cistercian #Monastery #England #Ruin #UNESCO
