Walnut Street Bridge is a Truss Bridge that was built in 1890. Back in 1996, ice in the river knocked down part of the bridge connecting Wormleysburg to City Island, and the remains are still on that side of the river. However, downtown Harrisburg is still connected to City Island today, still reaching over half of the Susquehanna River.
