Country roads- these are the places I feel most familiar, the places I call home, these distant secluded backroads are the ones I follow, winding through my heart wherever I am.

Sculpted by the hand of the Pacific Ocean-these great rock formations hold so much wisdom. They’ve witnessed history it’s entirety.

Again, the visions call me home- these moments of breathless art painted by the dusk have called my name since my childhood. It beckons and I follow the voice into the night.

Fishing under a summer sunset over Grand Lake in Colorado-This part of the country offers some incredible opportunities for any fervent photographer.

Sometimes all I have to do is step out my back door and I meet beauty face to face. May the sun always color the evening sky in ways I never could.

An offer of unmatched beauty- nothing holds such glory as that of the earths scenic magnificence.

Aspens and Sunsets- looking out over the valley with a thick row of aspen trees in the foreground and the sun setting beautifully behind the distant Rocky Mountains.

Country Road Sunset-a favorite pass time in our little mountain hometown is to drive the back roads and enjoy the scenery. It’s an activity which offers many great photo opportunities.

Daily afternoon showers- provide paint and the perfect canvas for these strokes of color striking across the damp sky.

Mountain flora- some of the toughest and most hearty of all flowers. Even these thick and rugged lupines hold such grand beauty in such a harsh unforgiving environment. The natural world has always knocked me off my feet in amazement.

Gentle submission of day to night- a sliver of the moon can just be seen while it guides the sun over the horizon.

Frosty Morning Alpenglow-another great example of the amazing natural color effects this mountain valley has to offer. The sunrise here reflecting off all the surrounding snow covered peaks offering a lovely morning view for the ice fishermen.

Since I was a very young child I’ve seen many moose and to this day they still affect me with wonder.

Fiery Mountain Silhouette-here we see a few foothills climbing up the Rocky Mountains providing a wonderful light situation to paint the western sky these gorgeous shades of oranges, yellows, and blues.

The high mountain lake- shrouded in winters cold breath Mt. Baldy fades into the clouds. Like an apparition it come and goes before my eyes.

Another evening silhouette- Mother Nature has the most beautiful and powerful paintbrush. Hers is the brush which directs all others with guiding inspiration.

Always look up- during any stroll at any time of day one could find oneself face to face with one of these land whales. Keep your head up and always be attentive.

Another lovely evening- these summer nights are in matched. The fire sky and the alpenglow.

The last yawn off daylight- the sun falls gentle beyond the trees. Today has passed.

So many sunsets- and one the same as the last. I’m am fortunate to have grown up in these mountains and also to have been taught to appreciate the magic and beauty of them.

Evening showers- the summer evenings here, like clockwork, bring in gentle showers to cool everything off a bit.

Still waters reflect a glowing sky- I love that we were able to capture the “god rays” in this photo. They can be seen clearly cutting soft lines through the sky toward the viewer. Add the mountain silhouette and reflecting waters and you have beauty

This has to be the best example of alpenglow I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. It’s a textbook example. Growing up here I’ve seen this many times and it never fails to direct my eyes and fill my soul with wonder.

Summer reflections- this is the ocean scene near La Jolla California reflected off my sunglasses. I had no idea I got this shot until I looked at it later.

Thick morning fog- these ghostly mornings before the sun burns the fog away offer a sort of solace that can’t be found anywhere else.

Sure steps- if ever you find yourself on this situation take the picture but keep in mind that these creatures are extremely territorial and large. Give them plenty of room. I would feel safer this close to a black bear than these two amazing animals

The image of confidence- the Moose here are the true property owners and they know it. A great deal of respect is owed if only for your own safety.

A lonely seal in a vast sea of emotion. Na, he’s just sunbathing on a nice rock.

Young Playful Bucks- two young deer taunt one another from opposing sides of a fence in someone’s backyard.

Winter Sun Rising- over a frozen Grand Lake during the ice fishing competition in late January. This gorgeous lake town valley produces some of the most amazing alpenglow effects. Here is a prime example of that. You never know what colors you’ll get

Sun bathed- just a couple of carefree seals just soaking up a bit of sun on a beautiful spring day.

Waves crashing- these rocky beaches, full of life, provided many opportunities for great photos.

Incredible alpenglow- a frozen Grand Lake covered in ice fishermen and a beautiful alpenglow during the fishing competition.

Heart Rock- alone in a sea of stone. Washed clean by salted waters. Solace in lonesome laughter.

Gaggles of geese- I follow the gaggle on the right throughout the summer. I became quite familiar with them and was pleased to see they all survived.
