I absolutely love nativities, especially those that look carved, whether faux or not. This is just a piece of what could become a larger nativity scene, but I still love it.
I found this Christmas snowman and tree at a county office here in Kansas. The office ladies decorate every year. So neat!
Old 1920 bridge in need of repair.
This is a photo of me gaming at 1 a.m. while the rest of my family sleeps. Outside of working and writing this is one of the few pursuits I have and is perhaps my favorite since I also write daily as part of my job. I really love diving into a new adventure and watching the story lines unfold. And I'm not super particular about genre - RPG, shooters, straight-forward platformers and puzzle games are all a blast!
This ornament reminds me of my childhood when I used to beg my mother to build a gingerbread house.
When I was young, peaches were one of the few fruits I liked better preserved than fresh.
I found these lovely holiday baskets at the store. While I didn't buy one, I couldn't resist snapping a picture.
I can't remember exactly when we got this cross, but it's been hanging by our door for years.
Despite my true age, I'm still a child at heart. This is Baron Von Rex. He guards my home office and occasionally my work office as well lol.
I think these little pinecones make a nice addition to our Christmas tree.
Thanksgiving rolls are so yummy!
I have no idea what type of vegetable or fruit this is, but it's shaped like a star at the end!
Somehow our messy tendencies ended up creating a wonderful little corner next to our house. I feel like an unintentional artist lol.
Living on a farm, one finds use for all sorts of odds and ends. This skull and antlers is just a taste of country decor in our neck of the woods.
I don't know why but I never did like squash. Still, these guys are kind of regal looking in their little bin.
These little guys are a great source of protein and natural oils. Very yummy!
This is the Mayor's Christmas Tree in Osawatomie, Kansas. It was decorated by cans painted by the local daycare children. They did such a great job!

I found these holiday decorations in a fabric department of the local retail outlet. Such a pretty cream color!
Homemade bracelets in red, silver, black and white.
Red and white beads - I use these to make jewelry.
Pumpkins always make me think of autumn with its beautiful sights and delicious scents.
I found this little gem in a small town City Hall in rural Kansas. The folks there had just set it up for the first time this year as a way for the community children to post letters to Santa Claus.
Such a colorful reminder of early American settlers and the dinners they must have shared.
Parker was a little sleepy but somehow he still seems like he has a question he wants to ask.

Mom's kitchenware.
Olives in black and white.
Celebrating Christmas in a rural community is more about the people & less about the glitz. Even so, nothing says Happy Holidays like a Christmas tree decorated in cute Teddy Bears!
I generally dislike glitter but, when combined with Christmas, it just seems to fit!
Our produce bowl... Usually, it's just for fruit. I'm not sure who stuck a pepper in there.
Chopper is so nosey!
Santa signs!
While I've never eaten a leek, if that's what this is, I think it is visually enticing as produce goes.
Our Thanksgiving table. It's appropriate that we live in Kansas since we love sunflowers!
Homemade bracelets in red, gold and a bit of green.
These fish are so awesome looking! I found these glow fishies at the local pet store. I've never seen anything like the green ones!
This black and white photo of a Christmas ornament actually highlights my hands and cell phone quite nicely! Lol.
Homemade bracelets in red, silver, black and white.
Red delicious apples.
