Experiencing the solar eclipse in full totality was a unique memory that will never be forgotten. Amazing to experience the wonders of our earth and nearby celestial objects
Northern California granted me the opportunity to see stars and the Milky Way like I had never imagined. Seeing space and the cosmos makes me feel small, but not insignificant.
Took a night off from school work to enjoy the stars of our nearby white side mountain in the beautiful Appalachian wilderness. Sometimes the best medication is a break from society and a night sky clear of night pollution.
Trudging through the wet and green environment of Oregon, I stumbled upon a hidden waterfall. The Umpqua river provided many secret waterways that led to waterfalls such as these, scattered throughout the remote landscape. Exploration is worth it
The narrows in Zion national park make me feel as though I'm in a prehistoric subway.
Spent the early part of the day lounging over a lazy stream in the Appalachian wilderness with the help of two hammocks. A friend and I enjoyed the silence as we indulged on some favorite books and listened to the sounds of nature.
Driving along the coast of big sur, I got to capture the moment where a waterfall cascades into the ocean. There is something calming about watching the waves crash into the bluff and retreat back home to the ocean.
Playing with light trails late at night with the help of my mountain bike. Experimenting with a head lamp and a light attached to the bike, of various colors, makes me feel like I'm riding a spaceship through the darkened forest
Sometimes the road leads us to unknown destinations. But the fear of the unknown is the worst fear of all. Don't be afraid to step out into choppy waters. Follow the omens and take chances
Working in Northern California gave me the opportunity to see the stars and the Milky Way like I had never witnessed before. Looking up into the stars makes me feel small, but not insignificant.

The scenic landscape that Northern California offers is out of this world. The mountains are large, new, and act as scars that show the transformation of our constantly changing world.

I find such a simplistic beauty in the silhouetted canopy of trees, especially when clouds paint the background with ever changing shapes.

Once again, Northern California showed me just how wonderful the night sky is. Looking up above the tree canopy, I noticed the Milky Way which looked like a giant scar ripping through the night sky.
They're called the Smokies for a reason. As the fog drifted across the mountain tops, I imagined diving in and sleeping with the clouds.

Got the chance to work with an endangered species: the Northern Spotted Owl. Mysterious and beautiful. The rare owl followed us around for who knows how long before granting us a chance to capture its essence
I love a good close up shot. New and closer perspectives bring about new manifestations. There are many different looks to nature and life, it all depends on how it's captured.

Again, experimenting with a glow in the dark frisbee makes for some pretty cool light trails with the vibrant Milky Way painting the background

Caught this slug out of the corner of my eye in the redwoods of Northern California. Casually hanging on a fern, life in the woods moves a little slower, maybe we can learn something about our own lives from watching nature

Mount Shasta catches on fire with the early morning sun rays, turning the mountain pink. The fog lifts from a nearby lake, giving an eery and mysterious feel to the mammoth and snow capped mountain.

Fun to experiment a little with light trails. The first picture says it all, "slow down". Life moves fast but we have the option to truly experience the moment and slow down life, enjoy every moment and the little things involved.
