Taken on the coast of the small Slovenian town of Piran, on a summer evening. People can be seen admiring the sunset along the promenade, and also swimming in the sea by the rocky coast. With the intense orange glow of the sun lighting up the scene.
The view from a caravan site near the city of Innsbruck, Austria. Here is where we stayed for the weekend. The magnificent mountain in the background looms over the surrounding woodland, casting the many lakes below into darkness.
Some more of the houses along the Menorcan coast, an area to dock boats can be seen in the water although none can be seen. Is everybody out?
Here we see some pelicans in one of the enclosures of the Edinburgh Zoo. They’re not usually suited to life in Scotland, but the keepers here look after them really well.
Stag rocks of Bamburgh, home to many varieties of wildlife, and so named because of the magnificent white-painted stag found painted onto the cliff face there.
An old wind turbine, it’s no longer operational, but many a year ago was instrumental in opening the harbour gates and lowing the water level to that of the sea. A relic from a time long forgotten.
The river Tyne viewed from the banks of South Shields, the sun is about to start to set behind the city for the night, while I enjoy the gentle river breeze and the clear sky.
The beautiful harbour of Mahon, the largest town on the small Spanish island of Menorca. The harbour here is the largest natural deep water harbour in the world.
Some of the villas used by the wealthy residents of Mahon, as well as some tourists. A simple sailing boat can be seen resting on the beach by the water’s edge.
The Statue of Liberty, a symbol of America freedom, seen here from its base on Liberty Island.
One of the many steam vents found in New York City, all the buildings there use steam heating, and sometimes that steam builds up and needs to be released somewhere.
The empty hallway inside the hotel we stayed at in New York. A very Art Deco building, but somewhat falling apart inside.
The sun beginning it’s descent below the horizon at the shore front of the town of Costa Teguise, on the island of Lanzarote.
The currents and the foam produced by the passing boats of the English Channel can be seen here, beautiful to look at, but deadly to get caught inside.
A rock with a face, found in a small steam running down the Old Man of Coniston in the Lake District National Park of England.
A simple bridge crossing one of the many streams in the beautiful Northumberland National Park.
A cloudy morning in Costa Teguise, the fog should lift by noon, but for the time being the seafront is still as beautiful and as picturesque as ever.
A view of the New York skyline from the Hudson Bay, both the New World Trade Centre and the Empire State Building can be seen here across the water.
Another stream in the Furness Fells of Cumbria, slowly eroding the sturdy rock beneath it, carving its way through the mountain.
The peaceful forests of the Northumberland National Park are thriving with life. Here, a small stream is pictured amongst the trees and ferns, crossing the path of the beaten track.
A dam made of sticks, it was probably built by children passing along this route earlier. Found crossing a stream in the Northumberland National Park.
The view from atop the Old Man of Coniston truly is marvellous, the horizon stretching out for miles. The peaceful lake of Coniston Water can be seen in the background, the third largest lake in the Lake District.
The sun setting behind an ancient tower in the coastal town of Costa Teguise on the island of Lanzarote. Tourists can be seen admiring the last few minutes of sunlight from atop the stone tower.
The original brass and wood escalators inside of Macy’s department store, certainly something unique I’ve never seen before!
A view across the river Inn of the beautiful Austrian city of Innsbruck. The amazing landscape can be seen far into the distance, with the clear air. The enormous mountains tower over the city, casting it into shadow in the early morning.
Hundreds of tourists gather on the beaches at Blyth to watch the start of the Tall Ships Race. The sunny day provides perfect conditions for both those on the beach, and the teams of sailors out running the boats.
The desolate unknowns of the deep, captured here just off the coast of the Mediterranean island of Menorca.
The destruction of my local leisure centre, it had fallen into disrepair in some parts, and really needed to be worked on. We now have a brand new leisure centre with much better facilities and a more modern design.
An empty field surrounded by luscious woodland, as the weather warms up crops will be planted here, but for now it remains desolate. A large puddle appears to have collected, reflecting the light from the shimmering setting sun.
