THE KONARK or The Sun Temple , 7th mystery of the world
it is very hard to believe that the temple was built by humans. It is like drawing in canvas with pencils . The entire temple is symbol of in sculpture of very advance skills . It not a single rock, if you see closely it is the sculptures of large numbers of stone blocks with rock art .It is UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. It took 12 years to built it . Yet the main temple was destroyed by enemy (Kala Pahada),which was believed to be the genius work with floating statue of Sun God.
Story behind the temple:
King Langula Narasigh Dev- King of Kalinga (now Odisha) wanted to worship sun god for the cure of his aliment . So he declared to build a most beautiful sunw temple. he gave 12 years of time for 1200 workers and gave a condition that if, within this period ,temple is not completed ,all 1200 workers will be beheaded. Time come and went work keep on . Slowly bit by bit work progressed. It was time of final work, all worker tried to fix the final stone, but they could not ,they tried again and again
but failed. It was now the last day ,still the final stone was not finished. All workers were scared cause of the condition to BEHEAD in case work not finish in time. Then a 12 year boy came searching for his father, the chief worker( Bisu Maharana).When the chief saw his son(Dharma Pada) ,he huge him and wept . Dharma Pada asked him 'why are you crying '. Chief said" because it first time and last time you are watching your father , because we will die tomorrow " . he heard all and said - Don't worry , i can fix it". Everybody look at him and said how can a little boy will fix the final stone. Dharma Pada then climbed to the temple and fixed the Stone. Then everyone delighted and dance with joy for few minutes ,then everyone dipped with sorrow, because the temple work had needed to be done by 1200 workers,now it is 1201. if king will know all will be beheaded.To rescue all 1200 workers he jumped into the sea.
