Four ferries and the fog - Sydney Harbour
The rarely visited, and mostly misunderstood, Sofia Lane in Sydney's Surry Hills. A dark place well lit so even the rats feel less unsafe.
This tunnel under the southern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge connects The Rocks on the eastern side with Millers Point and Observatory Hill on the western side. The history of the nearly 90 years of passersby hangs in the air.
If you weren’t up early, you might have missed the pea soup. This is Sydney City seen(ish) from Farm Cove
Cranes sleeping under clouds at Sydney’s Barangaroo
Looking up in the atrium of the Seoul City Hall
From the Opera House to Kirribilli, Sydney City before dawn
Photo-bombed by a ship - I think it was the Spawn of the Pacific or some such
I stand on an island surrounded by South Dowling St in Sydney’s Zeltand amid a sea of tail lights....
The Emerald City looking pretty - Sydney before dawn
Sydney's Millers Point is like a ghost town, with many long term public housing tenants being moved out and the houses now waiting to be bought by the rich looking to live right on the harbour. This is back of a row of terraces on Rhodens Lane.
Another very hot autumn day ahead for Sydney. Luna Park on the left and lunatic workshop on the right.
As much like a film set as it is a reminder of the active past of Sydney’s rag trade district - Sophia St in Surry Hills
It is with a certain clarity, I present to you Sydney Harbour
Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, South Korea. Dominique Perrault Architecture - many people want to capture the drama and impact
Apartment life in Tokyo, Japan. December 2017
Like the gills of an ancient fish taking oxygen out of the water to allow the beast to breathe, these gills suck the life out of workers to keep the capitalist beast breathing
Dongdaemun Design Plaza - Zaha Hadid Architects. Seoul, South Korea
It’s difficult to see, but riding in the carriage attached to the bicycle is a very chilled dog with a seat belt on. Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain
Charming little park and workers cottages on the corner of Little Riley Street and Adelaide Place in Sydney’s Surry Hills
Stairs, angles and shadows - Glebe foreshore walk, Sydney Harbour
Sydney’s George Street at The Rocks, with the Harbour Bridge in the background. Too early for any traffic
This street lamp was built as part of the Sydney Harbour Bridge construction early last century. It continues to light the path, a much smaller icon than the bridge, but important (to me at least)
Octopus for lunch? Barri Gòtic, Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain
I can’t tell you the impact of climbing a mountain in South Korea and looking out to a view like this - no wonder the locals treat mountains as spiritual
Heading home on an overnight flight
ANZAC Bridge in the background and Balmain East Ferry Wharf in the foreground as Sydney experiences another rainy start to the day
Location location location - 60s apartment block in Sydney’s ELizabeth Bay. Each apartment is worth a fortune, but if it was in a location not lapped by the waters of Sydney Harbour, would the value change?
In the cold, early and empty hours - I ponder the inky depths of Sydney Harbour
No, not an Escher drawing, but a photo of Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain
The old medieval keep at Peratallada, Catalunya, Spain
A confusion of architecture and reflection
Dawn - Pier 2&3, Walsh Bay, Sydney Harbour. The blur at Centre right is a squid fisherman, he was snagging a few
The charming corner of Hanslow Street and Fitzroy Place in Sydney’s Surry Hills
On the coldest morning so far of our Sydney winter, a brief colour moment to try and warm the dawn at Rushcutters Bay
Brutalistic office block - Sydney, Australia
Concrete factory and pre-dawn hues at Sydney’s Blackwattle Bay
Under the southern footings of the Sydney Harbour Bridge there is a choice - up the stairs for pedestrians and along the corridor for cyclists
Sydney’s Circular Quay with the first ferry of the day to Manly getting ready to cast off
A couple of criminal types lurking outside Sydney’s Justice & Police Museum
