When the sun came up this morning it was like running through a tunnel of nature.

A lush run.

Up at dark o'clock again and back into the woods for running, meditation and solitude. It was a morning of the sun, the moon and some stars. With three ultra marathons on the calendar already for this year every run matters. My mantra when I run for a long time has been, "You can't break me." It's a constant reminder that every day is a new day to endure and become stronger.

A gorgeous walk around the lake to stay loose ahead of Saturday's race.

Out early this AM for long run and a lot to think about. That reminded me of this quote by Pema Chodron: "It isn't what happens to us that causes us to suffer; it's what we say to ourselves about what happens." I'm really so grateful I live so close to this trail. Every weekend I get to do a nice mental reset. Enjoy your weekend...and your thoughts.

Last week I finished my first 100 mile trail race and today I was back home and out at it again in my sanctuary. I'm grateful and blessed for finishing last weekend and having taken care of myself the last week to recover.
